Week 38 - Almost there!

This past weekend we headed down to Lawton for several special occasions.  We had a wedding rehearsal, wedding, maternity pictures, Father's Day celebrations and a baby shower to go to!  Needless to say, we came back pretty exhausted.  It was great getting to see our friends at the wedding festivities.  Our maternity pictures went great and we will post some soon for everyone to see!  We went to Medicine Park with Mike & Sara Mazzo and had a lot of fun.  They are such a blessing to us and put up with the heat and sun to entertain my need for outdoor pictures :)  Thanks guys!

Since our baby shower was on Sunday (Father's Day), we decided to celebrate our Dads on Saturday.  We got to have a nice dinner with my family at the house and George got to spend some quality time with Dan in 'The Barn'.  George and I both have very special Dads and it was great getting to honor them this weekend.  We are truly blessed with amazing parents and could not ask for a better support system around us.  We hope to be able to love and nurture our little girl the way they have taken care of us!  This Father's Day was also special because it was George's 'first'.  Baby Horton and I picked out a nice new shirt and pair of jeans for our special guy.  Next year will be even more fun because we'll get to hold Baby H in person!

Overall, I've been feeling pretty good.  I've been having contractions on and off for the past couple of weeks now.  Nothing severe, just a lot of tightening and lightness of breath.  The past couple of days my back has started hurting and I've still had quite a bit of swelling in my feet and legs.  So, I just make sure to keep my feet up as much as possible and take it easy.  My co-workers have been incredibly thoughtful and make sure I'm taking it easy.  It is great to work with such wonderful people!  According to BabyCenter, this week Baby H weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). George thinks that she is coming really soon, so we will see if he's right.  We have our 38 week check up this morning and will update everyone on what we hear.  Last week we were still dialated at a 1 so we will see!

Here is this week's belly shot for everyone.  We will be posting the more professional photos soon.

38 weeks!
iNez is almost here!
Also, for this week's trivia question: Can anyone guess what my current craving is? (I may or may not have eaten this whole bag by myself last week!)

Yum!
And last, but not least, the other largest part of my body right now - my feet!  If you know me and are familiar with my very narrow feet and ankles, you will be quite disturbed by this! lol

Yikes!
George and I got home Sunday and realized it was our last trip to Lawton as a two-person family.  This is such an exciting time for us and we can't wait for our little girl to get here.  We had a great baby shower on Sunday and I was VERY excited to get to see all of our close family and friends from Altus.  We don't get to see them very often so it was a joy to get together with everyone and celebrate our little one's arrival.  The hostesses got Baby H her swing which will hopefully bring her many hours of relaxation! :) (for the parents too!)

Week 36 & 37 Update!

Well, I'm sure you are all wondering, what are those Hortons up to?  We have been busy getting everything ready for our little one to arrive!  Don't worry, we have taken lots of pictures to keep you updated :)

This past week, we had a doctors appointment to check and see how things were progressing.  Dr. Henry let us know that we are dialated to a "1" and 50% effaced.  He was very pleased with her progress and said that everything is looking great!  We will go back to the doctor Tuesday morning for our 37 week check-up.

I have been feeling really good and am still sleeping well aside from my crazy dreams.  Two nights ago I dreamed that we had Baby H and she came out a 'he' and weighed 12.5 lb!  Needless to say, I am relieved that dream will not become a reality!  My hands, feet, ankles and legs have still been swelling but I have been drinking lots of water and it has helped tremendously.  She is still moving and kicking a lot, but her bottom and legs are always in the same place now.  It is fun to feel her little feet pushing against my side.  George and I have enjoyed getting to feel her move around!  Tomorrow we are going to finish packing our hospital bag (just in case) and getting her things ready for the big arrival.

Tonight we got to meet Baby Horton's newest friend, Casen Trey Redding.  Proud parents Courtney & Corey welcomed him into the world this evening at around 8:30 p.m.  He was so handsome and tiny!  He weighed 6 lb and was sooo cute.  We can't wait for our little one to get here so we can take their first 'friendship photo' :)

Last weekend George and I celebrated 5 WONDERFUL YEARS of marriage! We went out to eat at Red Rock Canyon Grill and ate our dessert on the dock overlooking the lake.  It was a very special time to reflect on the last 5 years and all we have gotten to do together.  We enjoyed celebrating this last big milestone before our little one gets here.  I am truly blessed to have a husband that loves me and takes such good care of me.  I am thankful for our relationship and look forward to starting our family together!

The past few weekends I have forgotten to post our weekly belly photos so you are going to get three in a row today!   Below is Week 35-37, time sure is flying by!
