Week 17 Update

This week has been pretty crazy and we are a little late on our Week 17 update. (Sorry Tiffany :) Work was busy and school kept my hands full pretty much every night. Yesterday George and I took a trip down to OKC to finalize some decisions on tile for the bathroom. We have picked out some great tile and I'm looking forward to the finished product! We also picked out paint colors this weekend.

Baby Horton has been doing great! I felt the baby move for the first time on Tues, Jan. 18. It was very neat and unexpected. It happened while I was sitting at my desk in the morning, working on a project. I was very focused on what I was doing, so I was being very still. I don't think I would have noticed it otherwise! :) It felt like he/she was poking me repeatedly for a few times. We are very excited to have hit this milestone in the pregnancy. Overall, I have been feeling good. We have our ultrasound in a week - we can't wait!

Here is a picture of the baby at 17 weeks...we hope you all have a great week!

Week 16 Update

Yesterday we hit 16 weeks which is very exciting!  This week was also the first week of grad school for my last semester.  Class went well and I am ready to get it going and over with :)

There are not many new developments to report other than my eating patterns seem to be helping with any nausea.  I have been feeling great and enjoying this phase of the pregnancy.  My belly is starting to get bigger as you can see below!

16 Weeks

Today we went to OKC to celebrate Tyler's 5th birthday and Liam's 3rd birthday. We met up with the family and enjoyed Hideaway Pizza and Celebration Station. The boys also got to enjoy their first go-kart ride. As you can see, Uncle Georgie taught them how important it is to be competitive!

We had a great day and look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Week 15 celebration

Tonight George and I went on a date at Melting Pot and had a great time.  We enjoyed spending getting to spend time together before school starts back for me on Monday.  This will be my last semester of grad school. Woohoo! Below are some photos from our night out as well as a Week 15 shot for everyone.

Week 15!

Week 15 Update

Yesterday George and I had our monthly check up at Dr. Henry's office. Also, yesterday marked Baby Horton's 15th week. We had a great visit at the doctor and he said everything was going very well. My blood pressure and sugar levels were normal and we got to hear Baby H's heartbeat. This was the first visit that we got a heartbeat count from the doctor, which was high 140s. Some people say the 140 range is on the low scale, which could mean a boy, so we will see! We scheduled our next appointment which will be the BIG ultrasound! It will be on Monday, January 31 but we will not find out the gender until the following Sunday during a family lunch here in Stillwater. So far I have not felt Baby H move, so I hope that will be a new development in the coming weeks. George and I are going on a date night tonight so when we get dressed up I will post another belly shot for everyone. This week I noticed the most belly growth to date. My pants are much too tight on the waist now and I have enjoyed wearing some of MaryBeth and Deedee's early maternity pants the past few days. It's amazing how joyful your life can be with an elastic waistband! Ha! :)

We hope each of you have a wonderful weekend and will post more soon.

Welcome!

Greetings family and friends!

George and I will be posting to our blog periodically to keep everyone informed of how things are going with Baby Horton as well as progress on all our house stuff.  We are very excited to start this new chapter in our lives and look forward to meeting the newest addition to our family around our due date: July 1!  We have had several prenatal check-ups thus far and things are going well.  During our first visit, I was given a whole bunch of tests and had my blood drawn.  A few weeks later, we went in to see Dr. Henry to get our first ultrasound.  It was very neat!  He estimated that we were 7 weeks along at that point.  Sadly, our next ultrasound will not be until the first week of February but we look forward to seeing how much he/she has grown!

We have another check-up this coming Friday (Jan. 7).  During this appointment we should get to hear the heartbeat as well as the regular tests.

Below are a few photos to show our progress thus far. More to come!

Guess what?! :)

First set of blood work - yuck!

As promised, I will be taking photos to document my belly growth.  Here I am at Week 14! Starting to show a little bit  :)
