Weekend Fun!

This past weekend was a busy one for the Horton family. We had a lot of Mattie firsts also. Friday night, we awoke to a very upset little girl. She was very congested and did not seem to be feeling well. So, we got the nose spray, humidifier and crib wedge out and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. By Saturday morning, she was back to her old self - thank goodness. We were glad to see she was doing better, it was pretty sad to see how miserable she was during the night. Her little wimper/cry was so pitiful!

Saturday afternoon, Grammy and Grandpa Horton came to town with the BIG orange grill for our tailgate. George left early to help them set up while Mattie and I got ready to go. When we got there, the tailgate was in full swing and everyone was enjoying Dan's brisket, ribs, corn on the cob and other goodies. We had a great time and took shelter from the wind in the Harris' orange bus. George went to the game and Mattie and I went home to watch it on the couch and have a girl's night.

I stayed up to watch the Cowboys beat K-State in a nailbiter game. I was on edge the whole time - it was back and forth the whole 4 quarters. Right after the game got over we had a big earthquake in Stillwater. It was incredibly scary. The windows and doors were rattling and the whole house shook. I was on the couch when it happened and Mattie was asleep in her pack and play. It didn't wake her up, surprisingly. I wasn't sure what to do in that scenario. What are you supposed to do during an earthquake? I know stop-drop-and roll, I know where to hide in a tornado...But an earthquake? In Oklahoma? Let's just say I was pretty confused :)

So, this weekend Mattie 'celebrated' her first sickness (kind of), earthquake and.... ROLLING OVER! :) It was very exciting yesterday afternoon. She has been rolling onto her side for a few weeks now but finally took the full roll on Sunday afternoon. George and I were both there and it was so neat to watch her push herself. She was pretty happy with herself and is also pushing up really well with her hands. We are just so proud of her!

Here is another great video that Eleri took this past week. I am so thankful for a caregiver that captures these sweet moments while I am at work!
